Travelling within Delhi
The capital city of India has a well-developed transportation network. Public Transport Facility is a very important part for all tourists to roam from one place to another. Transportation is the lifeline of the capital city of Delhi. More than half of the population in Delhi is dependent on public transport for computing purposes. There is a number of transport facility in Delhi like Metro, Bus, cab, Autorickshaw, e-Rickshaw facilities in the form of public transport.

The fast-growing Delhi Metro network provides a cheap, quick, hassle-free and air-conditioned way of traveling around the city. Although Delhi Metro doesn’t cover all the destinations in Delhi, in spite of that, it does cover a considerable part of Delhi. The fare of Delhi Metro is affordable. It is quite reasonable for frequent travelers. Metro is the best transport facility in Delhi. There is a lot of crowds to buy a Metro ticket. To avoid this, you should use the smart card.

- Please show your travel card/token at the entry gate for the opening of flaps. Drop your token in exit gate for the opening of flaps
- Please ensure that entry on a travel card is followed by a valid exit from DMRC system. In case of a mismatch, the penalty will be payable as per the Business rule of DMRC
- Carrying token beyond exit gate is a punishable offense and attracts a fine of Rs 200 or imprisonment
- The refund of the unused token can be done with 60 minutes of purchase from purchasing station only
- No token will be issued to the passenger after last token sale time displayed at the station
CycleRickshaws & E-Rickshaws Facility
These Cycle rickshaws are three-wheeled passenger cart, pedal-powered rickshaws. It is also known as pulled rickshaws. Since cycle rickshaws are non-polluting. These rickshaws are good for short distances, or places which are too far to walk but too short for taking a bus/taxi/auto rickshaw. Cycle rickshaws the price before getting on Rs. 20-50 is reasonable for most journeys of a few km. E-Rickshaws are also the good transport facility in Delhi for computing to a short distance.
Buses are one of the cheapest modes of transport in Delhi consists of the environment-friendly CNG buses. Buses have always been an essential part of transportation in Delhi. The buses in Delhi are either owned by the private bus owners or Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). The bus fare is low. Buses are also a good transport facility in Delhi.
The Red and Green buses are low floor buses and are owned by the Government under DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation). The difference between red and green buses is that the red buses are air-conditioned and green buses aren’t.
Orange buses are privately owned by Delhi Transit Corporation (not a part of DTC). These buses aren’t air-conditioned and differ from DTC buses in ways of ticketing systems and are not low floor buses.
Auto Rickshaw Facility
Auto rickshaws are a great way of traveling in a city. They are less expensive than taxis and unlike buses, they take you to the doorstep of your destination. They are much cheaper than taxis and can be hailed from the street. Try to negotiate a price before entering the auto rickshaw. They are good transport facility in Delhi for short distances. Now, Delhi Traffic police are advertising the complaint policy and also started message service in which you can complain about auto-driver by just noting his auto-rickshaw number and SMS to 56767.
Most of the taxis are old but reliable CNG-run Ambassadors or Omnis in distinctive black-and-yellow livery and a green stripe. The hired family car of choice is usually a Toyota Innova or Chevrolet Tavera. An eight-hour charter should cost around Rs.1,500, and a tip is expected if the driver is helpful. The prices would also depend on the vehicle size too. Note that black and yellow taxis are not air-conditioned. Even if they do have air conditioning, you will be charged extra. Normally you just wait on the street or go to locations called taxi stands.
Many online cab services in De are now being run on a large scale. Like Uber, JPG Tour, Ola, Delhi One-way Cab, My Tempo, Uberx, In fact, these services are more reliable, affordable, hassle-free. The cab is fitted with GPRS technology, digital fare meters and thermal printers for issuing bill/receipt etc. The billing is done on a per kilometer basis from point to point. The cabs are available 24×7 in Delhi, So there are no problems of timing and safety.
Delhi Darshan By DTC Bus
DTC Bus Services conducts Delhi Sight-Seeing Tours for tourists visiting Delhi. It operates Sight-Seeing Tours from Scindia House, which is on the outer circle of Connaught Place. The tourist bus starts from DTC office Scindia House then pick-up Tourists from Information Kiosk of Delhi Tourism Baba Kharak Singh Marg and thereafter from ITDC office. The fare of Delhi Darshan Service for AC bus is Rs200/- for adult and Rs100/- for children between the age of 5 to 12 years. The time of journey will be from 09.15 to 17.45 hrs.

Hop On Hop Off Delhi Tourism Bus
Hop On Hop Off service is operated by multiple vehicles instead of a single one. The first bus starts at 8.30Am, Buses are also available every 45 minutes. Each Bus follows the same route covering 20 destinations and the guest is free to get down at any tourist attraction of his choice. One gets to spend minimum 45 minutes at each tourist spot. Complete the sightseeing, come to the same point where you dropped and simply take the next bus comes after 45 minutes to other attraction. You must start your tour as early as possible, this allows you more time for sightseeing and thus explore more places. If travel late or close early, fewer places only covered. better start with the first bus to cover maximum places. delhi Tourism’s (Govt. of Delhi) HOHO sightseeing bus offers AC Bus Guide and *22 places.
How To Reach?
Take a metro to Rajiv Chowk metro station, or take an Ola or Uber Cab, to enter the destination –HOHO bus service.
